I wanted to introduce my girls, Daisy and Roxy. Roxy is the top picture and Daisy below.

We rehomed them 2 years ago. Daisy is about 5 and Roxy about 4. They came to us as lovely but completely unsocialised dogs. It has taken a long time and alot of work to get where we are today - not perfect but at least they recognise their names now!

I love my dogs, they are my world. I cannot imagine life without them and I thank my lucky stars that they are here now.

I'll stop now before I get too sentimental but I shall be writing alot more about Daisy and Roxy.

 

A few of my favourite things

 Noooo! I'm not going to burst into a Sound of Music number (although I do really like that film).  It occurred to me today that perhaps I should explain where the title of the blog comes from. Well, quite simply, this is a place where I hope to indulge in all of my favourite things.

Pansies are one of my most favouritest flowers. Their little faces are always so jolly and cheer me up whatever the weather. There will be lots and lots of pictures and posts of these lovelies, that's for sure!

Similarly, I love robins. They are such a welcome sight in the middle of winter and I see them everyday at the birdfeeder in the garden. I know it's fanciful, but they seem to have such personalities and they truly are a gardener's friend. I hope to be able to post lots of photos of them but so far I've only managed to get the little one above as it perched on the chicken ark.

So here's to favourite things and I'm sure raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens will feature somewhere along the line!

Love is like a flutterby

Apologies for hijacking the motto from the popular 1970s BBC tv series but in the last couple of days I have become obsessed with the butterflies in the garden. We have a gang of 5 - 6 peacock butterflies ( see above), a number of small whites and brimstones and this mystery lovely.

I haven't been able to work out what this is but isn't it lovely?

While we are on the subject I also snapped this beauty:

I think it's a relative of the dragonfly or a damselfly but I know no more than that.

I love all of these lovely creatures. They flit, they fly, they flutterby!!!!!

 

Hello....at last!

Well I can't believe I am FINALLY writing my first post on my own blog. I have wanted to do this for such a loooong time but have always held back for one reason or another. But here I am, finallly putting fingers on keypad and seeing words emerge! It feels exciting and terrifying at the same time. I have been imagining posts for ages, topics, themes, words, thoughts and pictures and have finally plucked up the courage to jump in. Heaven knows where this will end up but I'm going to have fun trying!!!!

What am I going to write? About anything and everything that lifts my soul and makes each day worth getting up for. Sooo, I am looking forward to introducing my lovely dogs, chickens and if he's ok with it, my partner Andy. Also on the menu will be posts about the garden, cooking, decorating and especially about the crafts I love to fill my time with.

So here goes, wish me luck!!!!!
